Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the internet, including her self released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it together with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had been contracted with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she performed together with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream of the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. Then, in November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. The track was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been watched over 3 million times within the first seven days. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
