Kim Delaney was an American actress. Her most well-known role is because of her part as detective Diane Russell, in the ABC series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her credits are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. She grew up in a home with four other brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming a court reporter. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress was in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney, a young actress in the 80s, has been featured in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. The professional life she has had is better than her personal life. The actress, who is skilled and beautiful, has battled addiction to alcohol prior to that. She has also had marriages that failed twice. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
